Requirement:
As part of a major expansion and modernisation programme to provide a nationally recognised training facility, delivering the current training outputs plus an increased range of new capability technical courses, a high valued Middle East customer required a robust training solution for the Fundamentals of Power to be provided to its students. This would enable students to receive the underpinning knowledge and principles of operation required prior to attending future generator-specific power courses.
Approach:
Mercury conducted an auditable, and Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) compliant, Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to meet the customer’s new Fundamentals of Power requirements through in-country visits, liaison and Project Steering Group activities. Utilising the deliverables and recommendations from the TNA, the customer requested that Mercury conduct Design, Support and Training Delivery activities for the Fundamentals of Power course inclusive of all supporting DSAT documentation. Mercury provided close liaison and subject matter expert support to an e-learning provider to develop student centric e-learning media in-line with the TNA outcomes and to assure content accuracy and relevance throughout.
Outcome:
Production of a fully auditable, DSAT compliant training solution was delivered and accepted for Fundamentals of Power. Mercury has conducted successful training delivery activities within the customer’s training facilities, enhancing the knowledge level of students for the operation and maintenance of single and three phase static and mobile generators from 25 kVA up-to 730 kVA.
