    Telecommunications Network Fundamentals

    By Mercury Admin | Defence Community Case Studies | 0 comment | 21 September, 2020 | 0

    Requirement:

As part of a major expansion and modernisation programme to provide a nationally recognised training facility, delivering the current training outputs plus an increased range of new capability technical courses, a high valued Middle East customer required a training solution that provided familiarisation of their entire telecommunications network.

The requirement needed to encompass a wide target audience, providing the training at any point throughout their learning journey; from those beginning their initial telecommunications training through to those returning for advanced courses.

    Approach:

Mercury conducted both Phase 1 and Phase 2 Training Needs Analysis (TNA) activities through in-country visits, liaison and Project Steering Group activities.

Mercury conducted Training Design, Courseware Development and Training Delivery activities for 2 Telecommunications Network Fundamentals course levels, Overview and Fundamentals, inclusive of all supporting Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) documentation as well as all required customer-specific training documentation.

A blended learning approach was adopted in-line with the analysis to include student centric e-learning media, instructor-led media, discussion groups and practical activities.  Mercury provided close liaison and subject matter expert support to a contracted e-learning media company to assure content accuracy and relevance throughout.

    Outcome:

The production of an auditable, DSAT compliant training solution has been accepted by the customer and training delivery activities have been scheduled to be conducted within the customer’s training facilities.
